Grape: Pinot Grigio (2015)

Producer: Paolo Rodaro

Location: Colli Orientali, Friuli, Italy

Why did we choose this wine?
Our sommelier Paolo has chosen this Pinot Grigio because it represents what this grape is really capable of. Unfortunately the UK has been flooded with cheap Pinot Grigios coming from lower quality wine areas that are not a good fit for the grape and have at times damaged the image of the wine.

About this wine

A typical Pinot Grigio is characteristic of Italy’s North East, but it's in the region of Friuli that it reaches its best expression. Bordering the Adriatic Sea gives its grapes a slight saltiness as well as the smoothness.

The wine maker

Paolo Rodaro is an old friend of ours as they have been the personal supplier of our in-house sommelier for years. Paolo is a vulcano of ideas and a visit to his winery is always a chance to discover something new that he's experimenting with to make his wine better and better.
